Gasoline prices across Virginia remain eight cents lower than the previous month, according to AAA’s fuel price tracker, down from $3.98 to $3.90 per gallon.
Prices this week have inched upward due to instability in the Middle East, up from last week’s average of $3.77 per gallon on average.
As of writing, Brent Crude prices have dropped 1.7% over the last five days on news of a potential agreement between Iran and Oman to reopen the Straits of Hormuz under what the Wall Street Journal terms a “temporary framework” between the two countries, going as low as $83/barrel Wednesday morning before recovering to $85/barrel in midday trading.
